We take your privacy seriously

We certify that we will not sell, distribute, or use any material sent for editing. Your documents are treated as your confidential and private intellectual property.

Service Limitation

You agree that you will not submit any materials that could be considered unlawful, defamatory, abusive, harassing, obscene or otherwise offensive in Canada, the United States of America or in the originating jurisdiction. The provision of any editorial services, whether free or paid, is solely at our discretion. Any lawsuit or legal action arising from publication or distribution of materials which have been edited by iProof.ca is solely the responsibility of the User. iProof.ca will immediately cease to provide editorial services upon notification of any possible or existing legal action against a User in regards to materials for which we have provided editorial services, unless we specifically indicate to the contrary.

We're not perfect

It's possible that there's a typo on this site, even though that's pretty embarrassing for a proofreading service. But even if there's a typo, don't think that's a loophole to make us responsible for your problem. In addition, if we put up a link to another website, that means that we think it might be useful to our users, but we're not responsible for anything on the other website.

The User accepts the use of this website and our services at his or her own risk. Our liability is solely limited to the refund of any fees paid to us and does not extend to any other loss or damages incurred.

We don't guarantee to fix every error in your document. No one can promise that, and there are many grammatical "rules" about which editors disagree and some that are just myths. However, we will use our expertise to improve your writing, and we will work hard at that. If you're not sure what we can do, ask for a sample edit before you buy.

Please use our contact form for general inquiries.

Payment

All invoices must be paid in full before the completed work is returned. University, corporate and government clients may supply a purchase order or letter of authorization to contract services with payment on invoice at 30 days net. Regular folks pay in advance.

Prices are in Canadian dollars. GST or HST will be charged to Canadian clients effective January 1, 2023, based on the province of the client.

Payment on upload can be made by credit card directly (payment processed by Stripe) or through PayPal. To pay through email, request an invoice.

Terms and Prices are subject to change without notice. The User always has the option to decline our invoice and thereby cancel any contract of service. Additionally, we may decline a job for any reason, including: difficulty understanding the writing, an overdemand for our services at that moment, or unavailability of the editor. We will notify our clients of declined jobs as soon as possible so you can seek an alternative editor.

Price Calculation

The forms use javascript to calculate prices. If the form calculates the price incorrectly, you are still responsible for the correct price. If you go ahead and place the order, and the price paid is incorrect, we will send an invoice or a refund for the difference. If you don't like the price, you can cancel the order and receive a full refund.

Paid Editing Service

To submit now:

  1. Fill out the form requesting editing services.
  2. Upload your document (or send us a link to a Google doc).
  3. Pay the fee or request an invoice.
  4. Relax.

Note:

  1. You will receive the document with the edits showing using the "Track Changes" tool in MS Words.
  2. We will send you an invoice for the cost of the whole job.
  3. If the estimate is acceptable to you, then pay the invoice and the completed document will be returned to you within 24 hours (12 hours if you choose rush service) of when payment is made. The invoice will include the cost of the sample edit. If the estimate is not acceptable, then simply ignore the invoice.
  4. Invoices that remain unpaid after 24 hours will be cancelled at no obligation to the client.
  5. For documents under 900 words, users must pay immediately following upload.

If the number of words entered in the order form is not correct, and payment is made at the time of upload, then a refund will be issued for credits over $5.00. Alternatively, an invoice for any shortfall will be issued. If the invoice is not paid by the original deadline of the order, the order will be considered cancelled in its entirety, and the original fee will be refunded.

Guarantee

If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with our service, we will issue a full refund. We do not guarantee that you will receive any grade or outcome as a result of our editing. We do not guarantee that we will catch 100% of all grammatical errors. We do guarantee that we will return your edited document before the 12 or 24 hour deadline set when you make payment (either at upload or when you pay the invoice.)
